Oasis Footbridge:A Sustainable Gateway
As cities swell with the rapid urbanization of the 20th and 21st centuries, the need for efficient pedestrian pathways has never been greater. In Tehran, where over 20 million daily commuters navigate a complex transportation network, pedestrian bridges are essential yet often fall short due to outdated designs and security concerns. This project reimagines these vital structures by blending traditional Iranian architectural elements with modern construction techniques. Featuring transparent roofs for natural light and semi-open modular spaces inspired by Sabbat and Chahar-Taq, our innovative designs enhance visibility, ventilation, and security while celebrating the city’s rich cultural heritage. The result is not just a solution for traffic and safety, but a stride toward a more connected, sustainable, and aesthetically pleasing urban environment.
